Had to share a picture of these lovely orchids from my hike this past weekend. I've never seen so many orchids in the wild before.  These were along both sides of the path for about a mile!

Color-Changing Flower

I've been watching this bush outside our office at work...at first I thought I was imagining things, but it turns out that this flower/bloom changes color during the day!  It starts out bright white and then slowly turns pink and then shrivels up (you can see in the first two pictures, the bloom in the lower left corner was a bloom from yesterday).  They only seem to last one day, but for awhile now there's been a new one everyday.

Hibiscus

So I learned today that this kind/color of hibiscus is the only one native to Hawaii.  All the other colors that you may see here, although still lovely, are not native plants.

Flock of Birds

I love how this turned out...it reminds me of ink drawing/art.

There is something about the color of the water in this area...it does something to me immediately.  I get a glimpse of it as I am walking down this path and my whole body seems to relax.

I am told this is an African Tulip Tree...love the scarlet orange color.
