Lovely colors in the trees
We may not have a traditional fall here in Hawaii where the leaves turn colors, but we do have these lovely colorful blooms in the trees!

Hiking Aiea Loop
Mackey & I went hiking with the Hawaiian Humane Society today. This month's hike was Aiea Loop Trail which I've done several times, but never with them. It's funny how you can do a hike many times and you see something different or experience it differently each time. I did not remember these tall pines. They reminded me of being young and exploring the woods behind my Grandmother's house. :-)
This was the view at the end of the trail. Looking down on a bit of Pearl Harbor.

Jackson Chameleon Sighting
I spotted the one up top first...I'm assuming she's a female. I noticed her at first because she was black and stood out in the green grass. She changed color pretty quickly. I was so excited to see one I started snapping away and then this other leg comes into my frame!! He kind of startled me with his horns and all! I left them alone to do whatever it was I probably interrupted.

Bougainvillea
I never really thought much of this flowering plant until I moved to Hawaii. The first year I was here, a co-worker taught me how to make Haku Leis (headpiece) and we primarily used bougainvillea. They were so pretty! And the cool thing is that they are everywhere. We drove around that day and just picked flowers along the side of the road to make the leis.

Afternoon napping
I saw several ducks resting while standing on one leg only...had to look it up...found out this is to keep their unfeathered legs warm and they switch legs periodically. Interesting, but totally unnecessary here in Hawaii.
